"BARE: A Pop Opera"

BARE: A Pop Opera

"bare" received its world premiere staging at the Hudson Mainstage Theater, Hollywood, California on October 14, 2000. Produced by God

Help! Productions (Danny Feldman, Eric Anderson, Daniel A. Miles, Damon Intrabartolo & Kristin Hanggi), John Ottman & Donnie Land.

Directed by Kristin Hanggi. Original Los Angeles concert reading directed by Mischa Pfister in June, 1999.

“BARE” is presented through special arrangement with and all authorized performance materials are supplied by Theatrical Rights Worldwide

1180 Avenue of the Americas, Suite 640, New York, NY 10036.  www.theatricalrights.com

A group of high school seniors at a Catholic boarding school faces issues of sexuality and personal identity. As they struggle to come to terms with who they are, and who the world thinks they should be, they seek answers from their Church, their friends, and ultimately, from within themselves. Its rich, vibrant score draws on many styles of contemporary music. All as they are putting on Romeo and Juliet at their high school.  This powerful Pop Opera deals with heavy topics and damaged kids looking for healing and answers. *May not be suitable for all ages"

Directed by: Bryce Britton

Music Direction by: Colin Shepard

Choreographed by: Shannon Jung

Pride Night will be May 21st at 2PM

Beware of a visit from the ghost of Thespis.

When something goes wrong in the theatre, those in the know will point to the ghost of Thespis as the culprit. Ancient Greek sources identify Thespis as the first actor to step out of the chorus and play an actual character. He is the father of all thespians. When theatres are not lucky enough to have their own ghosts, they rely upon Thespis to be the scapegoat for all the problems that might plague a production. (broadwaydirect.com)
